Terms of Service

Last updated: 28 June 2026

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using Bill Sorted, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service. These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.

2. The service

Bill Sorted provides software tools to help Australians track recurring bills, expenses, reminders, documents, payments, and related records across home, investment property, personal, and similar admin use cases. It is a record-keeping tool and is not financial, legal, or tax advice. Always consult a qualified accountant or financial adviser for advice specific to your situation.

3. Your account

  • You must be 18 or older to use Bill Sorted.
  • You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • Each user must use their own login. Shared access must be managed through the product's workspace-sharing features, not by sharing passwords.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose.
  • Attempt to access other users' data.
  • Reverse-engineer, copy, or resell any part of the service.
  • Upload malicious code or interfere with the service's operation.

5. Pricing, billing, and refunds

Bill Sorted offers a free plan and paid software plans with plan-based access. Current packages, billing intervals, included features, and plan limits are shown on our pricing and checkout screens before you subscribe.

  • Paid subscriptions are billed through Stripe.
  • Sorted Free is available without payment details, subject to the limits shown on our pricing and product screens.
  • The workspace owner is responsible for selecting the package, keeping payment details current, and managing cancellation or billing changes.
  • Subscription management, including cancellation, is currently handled through the Stripe Billing Portal made available inside the product.
  • Refunds are generally not provided for change of mind. We may provide a refund where you were charged incorrectly or where required by law.
  • If we change pricing or materially change plan inclusions for existing subscribers, we will provide reasonable notice before those changes take effect, except where a change is required by law or tax.

6. Your content and data

You retain ownership of the content you upload to Bill Sorted. To operate the service, you grant Bill Sorted a limited, non-exclusive right to host, store, back up, process, transmit, and display that content as necessary to provide the service to you and authorised workspace participants.

Bill Sorted provides CSV exports for payment and EOFY records, and you may request access to other account data. Account owners may invite family members or professional advisers to a shared account. Owners are responsible for choosing appropriate access, and invited users must only access records they are authorised to review. Shared access can be revoked by the account owner.

7. Availability, failed payments, and suspension

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. Bill Sorted may be unavailable from time to time for maintenance, updates, outages, or issues outside our control.

If a subscription payment fails, Stripe may retry the payment under its own billing processes. If billing is not restored or the subscription becomes inactive, Bill Sorted may limit features, suspend access, or make the workspace read-only until billing is active again.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bill Sorted is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, opportunity, or data arising from use of the service.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted, or modified under Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable law. Any limitation of liability in these terms applies only to the extent permitted by law.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may request account closure by contacting support. Data handling after closure is described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes through the service or by email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
